Olinger Moore Howard Funeral Chapel

|
John DeMers
Location manager
I always knew I would choose a profession that focused on helping people. After attending Concordia College in Minnesota I moved to Denver to pursue a degree in mortuary science, which has led to a meaningful career in funeral care. My personal commitment to ensuring that every family has compassionate and dignified funeral care drives the exceptional experience provided at Olinger Moore Howard Chapel each day. I've connected with many special people by serving as the chairman of the Denver Dignity Memorial Homeless Veteran Burial Program, and am active with my church and several organizations. These activities provide the opportunity to foster relationships and serve as a resource for end-of-life care in the community.

Jim Colvin
Funeral Director
My funeral service career began in 1980 at a small funeral home in Port Huron, Michigan. Following a move to Denver I began working with Olinger Mortuary while continuing my education in the mortuary field. Throughout my career - as the owner of a mortuary transportation service, as an Emergency Medical Technician and Fire Investigator, and as a funeral director - I've always been committed to helping others and worked with each family as if they were my own. It means the world to me to be able to assist families with the very hard decisions they must make and to know I was helpful during their time of need.

Helen Slade
Funeral and Cemetery Counselor
As a mother of two beautiful children and a caregiver for my father, I understand how much it means to a family to have the support of those who can make life's experiences a little easier. My personal experience has played a great role in my professional life where each day I can make a difference for families before, during and after they experience the loss of a loved one. These times are among the most difficult and challenging that a family will ever experience. By providing compassionate care and ensuring that the family has access to the most broad range of options, I can help to make their experience a little easier. I am a native of Colorado, a graduate of Metropolitan State College in Denver, and have just celebrated my second anniversary with Olinger Mortuaries and Cemeteries.

Cookie Coleman
Office Manager
My career in the funeral care industry began in 2002 and I've held various positions in Colorado, New Mexico and Utah. As the office manager at Olinger Moore Howard Chapel I'm able to help families at their time of need, as well as with preplanning to ensure they are making decisions that are appropriate for their situation and that they have the services they need, which is very rewarding to me personally.

Stacie Schubert
Director of Community Care
Olinger Mortuaries and Cemeteries
Spirituality has always been important to me and working with Olinger Mortuaries and Cemeteries has given me the opportunity to share the importance of end-of-life planning and educate people about grief, loss and how funeral homes can be wonderful resources for families. I graduated from Augustana Lutheran College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota with a bachelor's degree in social work and religion and received my master's degree in divinity from the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago. For more than 12 years I've served as a hospice volunteer and work closely with 20 hospices in the metro area. Additionally I actively serve on committees for the Alzheimer's Association, Porter Hospice and St. Anthony Hospice and the American Diabetes Association. I also coordinate Olinger Moore Howard Chapel's annual Day of Giving each year and facilitate the location's support group.
